The Center for Trauma Prevention, Recovery and Innovation offers free training in trauma-informed care for services within the UAMS Health system. A trauma-informed approach to care integrates knowledge about psychological trauma into policies, procedures and practices in order to avoid re-traumatization of people served within the organization. This includes adopting patient-centered care principles designed to create a culture of safety, trustworthiness, cultural humility, collaboration, peer support, and empowerment within an organization in order to promote physical and psychological wellbeing.
