Helping Couples Expand Their Love Capacities

labyrinthJoin Dr. Chelsea Wakefield for an eight-week course that explores couple development and how deepening the “six crucial love capacities” changes everything. Dr. Wakefield’s Interdynamic Couples Therapy™ helps therapists see beyond the conflicts, anxieties, power struggles, disengagement, and betrayals that couples bring in. There is a normal process of development in a couple’s life that kicks off a bewildering interplay of underlying dynamics that gradually erodes the early hope of the love. Come and learn how to help couples out of the quagmires of love into a soulful connection.

  • Locating a couple on the developmental Relationship Roadmap
  • Beyond the honeymoon- normalizing the common quagmires where couples get stuck
  • Inviting couples into a development process where they begin personal and interpersonal growth.
  • Working with unconscious under-currents – story-lines, maladaptive schemas and protective coping patterns, anxiety, avoidance, and the impact of projection.
  • Assessing and Deepening the Six Love Capacities – why this changes everything
  • Soothing the Kids Behind the Curtain and Creating Exit Ramps off the Conflict Highway
  • Working with well-behaved, disconnected, conflict avoidant couples.
  • Archetypal interplay – the mix and match of two “inner casts of characters”
  • Individuation in Connection
