Heather Allen, LCSW, is an expert relationship therapist working in the UAMS Couples Center, a program committed to providing the area’s most state-of-the-art and effective couples therapy.

Heather graduated with her master’s in Social Work from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and completed a post-masters fellowship at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System. She was personally trained by Couples Center director, Dr. Chelsea Wakefield, and has become a sought-after clinician because of her excellent couples work.

Therapeutic modalities Heather has expertise in:

  • Interdynamic Couples Therapy™ – an approach developed by Dr. Chelsea Wakefield
  • Emotion Focused Couples Therapy – an approach to relationship therapy focusing on the attachment and bonding process.
  • Three types of trauma-focused therapy – EMDR, Prolonged Exposure, and Cognitive Processing therapies.
  • Treatment for those struggling with Substance Use.
  • DBT – a therapy focused on building capacities of interpersonal effectiveness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance and mindfulness.
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – with a focus on creating a mindful, value based life.
  • AASECT Sex Therapy certification – in progress
  • Specialized training in gender and sexuality affirming care with expertise in working with the LGBTQ+ community.

Intake sessions with Heather will run 1 hour and 45 minutes at a cost of $225.

Hourly rates for follow-up sessions with Heather are billed at $140 an hour.

Sessions after intake run one hour and 15 minutes with an occasional session at 1 hour and 30 minutes.

The Couples Center accepts no insurance reimbursement for couples therapy or sex therapy.

Morgan Jackson

Morgan Jackson is the Administrative Coordinator for The Couples Center at UAMS. From answering information calls, intake process, scheduling, and ongoing care, Morgan strives to create a comfortable atmosphere for couples coming to The Couples Center. She is committed to giving a high level of service to each client, clinician, and the broader community to which we serve.​

Morgan graduated from the University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College, receiving an Associate of Applied Science in Business and a Certificate of Proficiency in Entrepreneurship.  Before coming to The Couples Center, she worked in office administration, social media content creation, social media marketing/management, and remote business management. Morgan was the Assistant Director of The Early Childhood Education Program at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Little Rock. There she managed teachers and their classroom needs, parents, and fundraising events.

Morgan is also in charge of outreach for Dr. Wakefield and handles all her media, presentation, and conference speaking schedule. She manages Dr. Wakefield’s community presentation schedule, including the Relationship Enrichment Series.​ If you are interested in booking Dr. Wakefield for a workshop, presentation, radio, or television interview, you can contact her at ​
