Advanced Training Agenda

April 30, 2026:

9 a.m. – Noon

“Introducing the New CPP Strands of Fidelity” – This training will introduce the three new strands of CPP fidelity and how to weave them into the existing fidelity framework that guides our CPP work with families.

1 – 2:30 p.m.

“You matter to me:” Using the DSM-5 Cultural Formulation Interview to Guide Treatment for Each Family – This training will explore how the Cultural Formulation Interview (CFI), found in DSM-V and later, can be modified to be relevant to PCIT families and can then guide the therapist in adapting their PCIT techniques to individual families’ backgrounds, values, etc. We will use a case vignette to illustrate this process.

2:30 – 4 p.m.

“My treatment tailored to you:” Methods for Tailoring and Adapting PCIT Throughout Treatment Based on Family Characteristics – Many PCIT families benefit from assistance beyond the simple presentation of PRIDE skills and time-out. This session will continue to use the case vignette from the previous session to explore how PCIT can be modified across the course of treatment to maintain attunement to a family’s needs while staying true to PCIT’s core characteristics.

May 1, 2026:

9 a.m. – Noon

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) Advanced Training Session – This training will cover advanced TF-CBT topics to help you deepen your practice, including how to implement TF-CBT for children in foster care, as well as the newest resources and research related to TF-CBT.
