The UAMS Psychiatric Research Institute has added a familiar face along with a brand new one to its clinical team.
Ming Hwei Yek, Psy.D., a clinical psychologist, joined the Psychiatric Research Institute as an assistant professor in the UAMS Department of Psychiatry in October. Yek received a master’s in clinical psychology and a doctorate in clinical psychology from Baylor University. She recently completed a fellowship in clinical health psychology at the University of Florida at Gainesville. She sees patients in the Walker Family Clinic as well as seeing pre- and post-transplant patients for evaluation and treatment.
Elissa Dougherty, Ph.D., a former post-doctoral fellow in the Psychiatric Research Institute’s Division of Psychology, joined the Department of Psychiatry as an assistant professor in January. A former psychology (child track) intern, Dougherty graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a bachelor’s in psychology. She obtained her master’s in psychology and her doctorate in clinical psychology from Texas Tech University. She sees patients in the Child Study Center and the Child Diagnostic Unit while continuing her work with the Psychiatric Research Institute’s ARBEST program.
