Sam Quinones is an award-winning author, journalist and storyteller. His book, “The Least Of Us: True Tales of America and Hope in the Time of Fentanyl and Meth,” was nominated for a National Book Critics Circle award for Best Nonfiction Book of 2021. His “Dreamland: The True Tale of America’s Opiate Epidemic,” released in 2015, won a National Book Critics Circle award for the Best Nonfiction Book of 2015.

“The Least of Us: A Conversation with Sam Quinones” will be a firsthand account of the widespread impact substance use has had on this country and Arkansas. Along with Quinones, medical experts and addiction specialists will provide insight into the organizations dedicated to tackling the challenge of substance use disorders. You will hear from individuals who have experience with the challenging struggles associated with substance use and are able to demonstrate the complex mechanisms of recovery.
