Research Expertise
Dr. Childs specializes in the assessment and treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) particularly among veterans. The focus of Dr. Childs’ research includes understanding the treatment and assessment of moral injury, factors impacting patient engagement in PTSD treatments, and ketamine treatments for mental health. Dr. Childs obtained her Psy.D. in clinical psychology from William James College. She completed her psychology internship and a clinical postdoctoral fellowship at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System. She is currently an Instructor at the Center for Health Services Research within the Department of Psychiatry. She is also an advanced postdoctoral fellow with the South Central Mental Illness Research, Education, and Clinical Center at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System.
Research interests: Quality improvement, Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), moral injury, trauma-focused evidence-based psychotherapy (TF-EBP), and ketamine for mental health.
