Rubenow

Dr. Jon Rubenow, DO..

The Psychiatric Research Institute’s Northwest Arkansas clinic is led by Dr. Jon C. Rubenow, D.O., a longtime member of our faculty. Dr. Rubenow has been with the Psychiatric Research Institute since 2010, treating patients at our Little Rock facility and serving as the medical director of the Pulaski County Regional Crisis Stabilization Unit while also maintaining a practice in the northwest region of the state.

The PRI-Northwest clinic is located in the former Stephens Building at 3425 N. Futrall Drive, Suite 103, in Fayetteville. The clinic is open to patients Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Appointments can be made by calling 479-713-8350. The clinic’s fax number is (479) 332-0701.

Mecum

Dorothee S. Mecum, M.D., PLLC

Dr. Rubenow, Dr. Dorothee S. Mecum, M.D., PLLC,, Dr. Aaron Carson, M.D., and Dr. Brian Mooney, M.D., offer a variety of psychiatric services. Drs. Rubenow, Mecum, Carson and Mooney are currently accepting patients referred to them from UAMS and the University of Arkansas.

A graduate of Loyola University of Chicago, Dr. Rubenow graduated from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed residencies in Internal Medicine and General Psychiatry as well as a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Emory University School of Medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry in General Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry.

Dr. Aaron Carson, M.D.

Dr. Mecum is a former resident in General Psychiatry at UAMS and formerly served as an attending physician on the Northwest Medical Center’s Behavioral Health Unit. She is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Carson, an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry, received his medical degree from UAMS in 2012. He completed his residency in psychiatry at UAMS, serving as Chief Resident at the UAMS Northwest Regional Campus in his final year. Dr. Carson formerly served as Associate Chief of Staff for Mental Health at the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks in Fayetteville.

mooney

Dr. Brian Mooney, M.D.

Dr. Mooney, also an assistant professor, received his medical degree from UAMS in 2001 and completed his residency in psychiatry at the University of Oklahoma at Tulsa. He formerly practiced at the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks, where he served as lead psychiatrist for the Trauma Recovery Program. He also served as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor for the Department of Psychiatry, supervising medical students and psychiatry residents at the UAMS Northwest Regional Campus.
