Dr. Jon Rubenow, DO

The Psychiatric Research Institute’s Northwest Arkansas clinic is led by Dr. Jon C. Rubenow, D.O., a longtime member of our faculty. Dr. Rubenow has been with the Psychiatric Research Institute since 2010, treating patients at our Little Rock facility and serving as the medical director of the Pulaski County Regional Crisis Stabilization Unit while also maintaining a practice in the northwest region of the state.

The PRI-Northwest clinic is located in the former Washington Regional Hospital at 1125 North College Ave. in Fayetteville. Part of UAMS’ Family Medical Center, the clinic is open to patients Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Appointments can be made by calling (479) 713-8350.

Dr. Rubenow and Dr. Dorothee S. Mecum, M.D., PLLC, an assistant professor in the UAMS Department of Psychiatry, offer a variety of psychiatric services. Drs. Rubenow and Mecum are currently accepting patients referred to them from UAMS and the University of Arkansas.


Dr. Dorothee S. Mecum, M.D., PLLC

A graduate of Loyola University of Chicago, Dr. Rubenow graduated from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed residencies in Internal Medicine and General Psychiatry as well as a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Emory University School of Medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry in General Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry.

Dr. Mecum is a former resident in General Psychiatry at UAMS and formerly served as an attending physician on the Northwest Medical Center’s Behavioral Health Unit. She is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
